Lexi Spring Dance Recital
Waiting for the recital to begin :)
Very excited!
She was always one step behind...and it was adorable!
Watching the other performances with her friends.
Courtney, Brenden, and cousin Caden were in town and came to the recital!
We do have a video of the dance...working on how to get that from Heath's phone to the blog.
Next time maybe I'll be better prepared for the bad lighting and antsy children...and the pictures will be better ;) Next recital is a week from today.
Easter 2012
The Easter Bunny Arrived while we were coloring eggs on Saturday. :)
We had a great Saturday Easter Bunny Celebration with coloring eggs and an egg hunt. Grandma Julie also sent fun treats in the mail for the kiddos. Thanks!
Jacob Gymnastics Spring 2012
Jacob loves gymnastics! Here's some shots from his last class. He loved the awards ceremony and felt like a super star!

Jacob
Watching cartoons at Daddy's work :)
Jacob's last day of Kindergarden in next week! Crazy! He is excited for Summer Break...mostly because he seems to think that it means going to the pool, Disneyland, Seven Peaks, the Zoo, visiting family...most of which are not on the schedule......a new baby is on the schedule. Yikes...I'm in for it! Hopefully we'll have a fun enough summer for this kiddo.
We've started a wall calendar for the kids to keep track of their schedules. It helps Jacob to see what days he has things scheduled. We also add things like when Grandma comes to visit, FHE, dad out of town, TBall...etc. Its so helpful for him. He has finally stopped asking me when events are and he simply says to me, "So, when is TBall again, I'll go check the calendar". I love that.
He just finished his 2nd session of gymnastics and he loved it! What boy wouldn't love jumping and bouncing around!? He is so proud of the metals he received and loves that they are his very first metals! Spring swim lessons end next week and he is so excited to be learning "to be a real swimmer"! We'll pick up on more swim lessons in July and fingers crossed I'll have 2 little fishes in the family by the end of August!
TBall starts this week and his first practice is tomorrow! This kid is so stinkin excited. He has had this obsession for baseball for about 2 years now...and he can't even catch a ball. Poor kiddo...but its just TBall....he has plenty of time to learn ;) His first game is Saturday on a little team I think with only like 6 kids. I pray that he loves TBall, has a blast, and feels like a huge success after his first game. I will just be crushed if he doesn't love it! Yesterday he asked me to make hooks on his wall for all his baseball hats. Cutie. He doesn't ever ask for anything decor related in his room...but his hats are getting important to him. :) Heath gave him a hat with Heath's work logo on it last week and this week Heath gave Jacob a grey hat that makes my son look 5 years older! (take it back! my baby is growing up!) Jacob also has a Dogers hat and a Texas Rangers hat that reminds him of CA and TX. He loves his hats.
Jacob has his first Teddy Bear picnic tomorrow. His guest of honor will be his grey kitty. Which he informed me (for the very first time) that his kitty doesn't have a name. I asked him if he wanted to name his kitty, he said no. Alrighty. :) The kitty sleeps with him every night and was a gift from his Grandma Rose (Avery) his first Christmas. It has been washed a zillion times and is still holding strong.
Jacob participated in his first Fun Run at school last week and they did 3 miles. Crazy! He walked/ran and loved it! It was fun to him to be like his uncle Paul and run a real race! Jacob recently attended a race Paul did in Provo and thinks Paul is the coolest. Jacob...who refuses to walk to school anymore...is very interested in walking and running now...but mommy is 37 weeks pregnant...no thank you sweetheart. So Jacob and Lexi run around the backyard, good enough!
Jacob and my dad walked around the temple when he was here for Paul's graduation from BYU. Jacob still talks about how much fun he and Grandpa had. Its the little thinks like going on a walk with someone you love, that makes a kid feel special and loved. My son lights up when he talks about his grandparents.
Jacob loves to read and is learning so much. He also loves to help us read from the BOM. We are in Ether and Jacob is so excited...he seems to think that after we finish the next 25 pages then we will be all done and won't have to read the BOM ever again. Oh goodness....still trying to teach him that he'll read it over and over and over and over for the rest of his life. That's a hard concept to teach a 6 year old. Have you tried it?!!!! In the past year I've really felt like he can grasp more of the stories from the scriptures. He loves to come home from church and tell us all about what he learned that day. Heath was just called to team teach a primary class and I think its so amazing to have him in primary with Jacob and Lexi watching him fulfill his calling. Heath doesn't teach Jacob or Lexi...but I think that's good. The kids see him a sharing time and Heath gets to tell me all the funny things Lexi does or the cute little answers from Jacob. Its great. (I lead the music in Relief Society and I LOVE IT!)
Jacob is excited to start 1st grade next year and thinks it's so cool that he will be attending the same school! (My poor kid is so scared from moving so much...) Jacob loves his new house (rental house across the street from the Provo temple) and he loves to tell everyone "we have stairs!" haha. We're moving up in the world. lol. His bedtime is 7pm and he sleeps until 7am! Crazy right? My little boy needs his rest. He's such a good sleeper...he has always been that way. I'm blessed. (Lexi on the other hand...no so much..she sleeps at 7 but wakes between 6 and 7, good i guess:)
Jacob is a sweetheart and is so obedient. He sets such a good example for his sister Lexi and soon to be little brother. We are so blessed to have such a good example heading up the kiddos in the family.

Lexi
Exhausted after Dance class
After eating cereal today, rubbing her tummy Lexi says, "My baby is full now". Then walks away :) She loves pretending to be pregnant just like mommy. While cleaning the bathroom with Jacob she often puts her stuffed bear under her shirt and just cleans like that. It's like she prefers to do her chores with her baby in her tummy. (I sure don't!) I love her. I tell her everyday that she is going to be a great big sister. She is very excited for her little brother coming at the end of this month.
While eating a snack this afternoon Lexi was pretending with her food. Often while pretending she uses names of people she knows like Courtney (my sister :) or grandma, or Paul (my brother that lives closest to us). Today while eating almonds Lexi was pretending that 2 of the almonds were visiting teaching another almond. Guess who my visiting teaching buddy is?! :) Lexi loves to visit with me. One of the sisters we visit is 87, Sister Sperry. She is just amazing. Lexi loves her so much and the two of them sit and cuddle during the visit or Lexi plays at her feet with a basket of toys provided by Sister Sperry. You can just tell that she is an amazing mother/grandmother/great grandmother. My daughter isn't an angel at every visiting teaching appointment...but at Sister Sperry's Lexi is just in heaven.
Lexi is in her 2nd session of a little dance movement class. She looks adorable running around and doing little ballet pleas. Her performance next week is to one of the songs on RIO and she gets to wave around a little scarf. Oh its just precious!
In July she will start swim lessons and in the fall Lexi will start preschool. Lex is so excited to be a big girl and have her very own school to go to! Mommy will miss her :(
Lexi and I do everything together! She is my shopping buddy, my Cafe Rio buddy (one a week baby!), and she helps me with dishes, laundry, and getting the mail. She's my shadow and I love it! If I'm taking a nap (while my kiddos are awake;) she'll come cuddle up next to me and I wake with a cute little sleeping beauty next to me. I cherish these times with her.
Currently, Lexi's sitting on the floor next to me, not sleeping like she should be because she's waiting up for daddy, she's looking at a book and making up stories. Wait, take that back...she just climbed on the table and is rearranging the napkins. She is just like me! Lexi also likes to pretend she is crocheting like mommy. She says she makes little blankets for 'her baby'.
Everywhere we go she gets complimented on her long "chocolate" hair (as she calls it :) and often times she smiles and giggles. I try to coach her to say thank you but the strangers talking to her freaks her out a bit sometimes. haha. Get used to it sweetie...you're adorable!
Several times a day Lexi asks me to read her a story. I love that FINALLY my children are interested in reading. But my goal of always saying yes (within reason) to story request is KILLING ME. Since we now have a designated "reading room" in main area of the house the kids have quick access to their books and Lexi looooves her books. We'll see how that goes when we have a toddler in the house again. We are in for a lifestyle change that's for sure. When Lexi "reads to herself" she likes to hum or make up stories about the pictures. When Jacob reads his site word books for school Lexi likes read them too and he goes solely off of the pictures but its like she's really reading. It drives her brother nuts. hehe.
I love having Lex at home and cuddling with her. I tell her when we cuddle that she is my little princess and push hair back from her face and plant a kiss on her forehead. She smiles and lights up. She expects it and loves it.

For those that don't follow me on Facebook...this was my 30 week picture. Ya know... for posterity.
This is my new hobby :) Learning to crochet. This was my first fleece blanket.
This is a cheater picture of me at 35 weeks. Makes my hips look big...not the baby...that's just me;)

Happy Birthday Lexi!
Look who turned 4 today! Princess Lexi!
Heath and Lexi went on a Father Daughter Date tonight to Best Buy...before you laugh...he took Lex to pick out a new game for her Mobigo (handheld game thing for little kids:) She was so excited! Its the little things like getting a special outing with daddy that make this little princess happy!
Make a wish! She had to blow at least 5 times before she got them all out. Cute Cute.
Lexi helped to set her birthday table. She wanted it to look perfect. It was the cutest thing to hear her singing Happy Birthday to herself while getting everything all together. Love this kid. After cutting the cake she continued to decorate it with the candies on the table.
My brother Paul was able to attend Lexi's birthday celebration and the kids were so excited to have him there. Its such a blast to have him living close by...the kids seriously ask about him every single day.
Princess Lexi is growing up so fast. She loves to read stories with mom and enjoys putting on mommy's blush. We lovingly call her our angry bird because she often squawks at us just like one of those annoying birds on my cell phone. She started Sunbeams this January and attends what she calls, "Cry-mary" Primary :) She looks forward to starting Preschool in the fall and still can't quite believe that the new baby in mommy's tummy is a boy...she wants a girl! She has her own room, but can't seem to sleep in there all by herself...mom sure wishes she would! She's definitely not allowed in mom and dad's room....so Jacob has welcomed her mattress on the floor of his room ;) She received a new bedding set tonight so she's back in her room...we'll see how it goes!
Lexi Rose is such a happy and beautiful girl, we feel so blessed to have her in our family.
